Cork band Pebbledash has released their new EP, ‘To Cast The Sea In Concrete,’ in its entirety.

The trio is making significant advancements, and their sound is challenging to define. While they are often associated with the post-punk revival in Irish music, Pebbledash frequently incorporates dreamy, shoegaze-like textures along with elements of noise rock.

They deliver a powerful live performance, and their early work received strong support from Emily Pilbeam on 6 Music.

Returning to the studio with producer Cathal MacGabhann, Pebbledash has created seven flawless new tracks that showcase their range and clarity of vision.

Kicking off with ‘Si Bheag Si Mhor,’ this project feels deeply connected to the Irish landscape, leading into the thrilling ‘Isn’t It Always.’

Concluding with the poetic ‘The Shape Of The Day,’ the new EP is impressively concise, with each song seamlessly transitioning into the next.

Regarding the EP, Cormac Donovan O’Neill from the band stated: “The setting where we recorded these songs – a quiet makeshift studio just outside the city, yet surrounded by greenery and close to the River Lee – ultimately shaped and reflected the conceptual thread of the EP, highlighting the contrasts and interactions between nature and urbanity, hardness and softness, land and water. We were all aware of Cathal’s exceptional recordings with other bands from Cork, and we poured ourselves into capturing what we believe are our best tracks to date in a space where artists like The Altered Hours, Elaine Malone, and O Emperor have produced such remarkable works.”

“With this EP, we aimed to fully showcase our growth not only in sound but also thematically, creating a cohesive piece that invites the listener into its world from start to finish.”
