Nottingham-based band Divorce has returned with their new single ‘Hangman’, the latest release from their upcoming debut album ‘Drive To Goldenhammer’, scheduled for release on March 7 through Gravity/Capitol. This track follows their previous releases ‘All My Freaks’, ‘Antarctica’, and ‘Pill’, making it the fourth addition to the album. The quartet combines their signature heartfelt harmonies with emotional folk-rock instrumentation, drawing inspiration from co-vocalist and guitarist Felix Mackenzie-Barrow's prior job. “I wrote ‘Hangman’ late one night, shivering in my damp bedroom after a long shift as a support worker,” he explained. “The role required a significant level of emotional control, a challenge I'd never faced before. Writing about the experience allowed my subconscious to flow freely and provided me with a new perspective.
I only held that job for around six months, but it was both the most challenging and rewarding work I’ve ever undertaken. I have immense admiration for the individuals I worked with and those who choose this career path. The world of social care often remains obscured in a society that prefers to ignore its existence, yet it is crucial and deserves far more attention and investment than it currently receives.” You can watch the official video for ‘Hangman’ below. Divorce will also be performing live this Spring on the following dates:
