AJ Tracey Releases 'Crush', Featuring Jorja Smith.

"This track really brings back memories for me; it feels youthful yet refreshingly new..."

AJ Tracey has released a heartfelt new song titled ‘Crush.’

The rapper from West London is returning to his roots with this new single. Teased on social media, the beat leans towards grime, evoking memories of his anthem ‘Ascend,’ which was driven by Last Japan during his rise to fame.

Known for his engaging performances, AJ’s songwriting remains sharp as he captures those initial feelings of attraction.

This song about desire features AJ Tracey’s lyrics complemented by a soulful, feminine touch from Jorja Smith.

Jorja’s voice meshes wonderfully with club sounds, and as many have noted, it’s a poignant moment that AJ Tracey releases a Rhythm & Grime track in the same week that influential producer Terror Danjah passes away.

      AJ Tracey shares...

“‘Crush’ is a significant song for me; it represents a reunion with my good friend, who is also my favorite singer, on a British sound that truly reflects both of us. The track evokes the excitement I felt in secondary school when I liked someone, rushing home to call them on my old Nokia, exchanging MP3s we thought each other would enjoy, and chatting all night on MSN. It’s a UK vibe!”

      Jorja Smith adds...

“This song really takes me back; it feels youthful but simultaneously fresh. It reminds me of when I first started releasing music, thinking about taking the bus to school, and brings to mind summers in the 2000s – so many emotions!”
