Charli XCX has won Songwriter Of The Year at the BRIT Awards 2025.
The grand event will take place this Saturday (March 1st) at the O2 Arena in London. Starting at 8:15 PM, the ceremony will be broadcast live on ITV.
As is customary, a few awards are announced ahead of the ceremony. Just hours after A. G. Cook's win for Producer Of The Year, Charli XCX has been awarded Songwriter Of The Year.
Together, they created ‘BRAT,’ which has become one of the most significant album releases of 2024. This marks the first time Charli XCX has received the Songwriter Of The Year accolade.
The award acknowledges exceptional songwriting skills and was determined by a select group of expert judges, with past winners including Ed Sheeran, Kid Harpoon, and RAYE, who won in 2024.
Damian Christian, Managing Director and President of Promotions at Atlantic Records (part of Warner Music UK) and Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025, stated...
"Charli has had an exceptional year, bringing her innovative blend of electronic and pop from underground scenes to mainstream culture. Her songwriting is unique, bold, and continuously creative. Having been one of the UK's top songwriters for several years, she has elevated her artistry to new levels with her global success, Brat. I'm thrilled that she has been acknowledged with this well-deserved award."
The BRIT Awards 2025 will commence at 8:15 PM on March 1st.
