Silver Gore: "I believe we have discovered a sound that no one has encountered before."

“There was no prior thought or strategy.”

      — Ethan P Flynn

Freed from self-imposed limits—aside from the ambition to produce six sonically distinct tracks—Silver Gore emerged from fleeting moments and sleepless nights at various sites connected to the duo’s past. “‘Celestial Intervention’ was recorded at my childhood home in Yorkshire,” Ethan recalls. “I was hoping to draw some final inspiration before it got sold. We essentially recorded wherever I managed to set up a home studio, even if it often took convincing Ava to contribute to a song.”

“It’s because I knew what I was getting into if I agreed!” Ava counters. “I anticipated long, intense sessions where I’d be lying on the floor, trying to express my feelings. It was my first experience writing songs in this manner, so there was quite a bit of resistance as I was writing from a deep emotional place.”

“However, I’m grateful we got this done,” she adds. “This process was necessary for me to be ready for what comes next. This EP feels like a time capsule of emotions, but I now realize that I can write various types of songs, allowing us to create something more thoughtful and stylistically refined.”

The EP served as a test for Silver Gore, to determine whether their unique style resonated with a broader audience. After performances at Green Man and End of the Road festivals spurred attendees to demand more, it’s become increasingly clear that their potential is limitless. “The EP could have been seen as a demo,” Ethan suggests, “but we aimed to explore what resonates and how we fit into the larger music scene.” Ava agrees. “What follows will resemble the EP but on a heightened level; I believe we’ve discovered a sound that no one has encountered before.”

If ‘Dogs in Heaven’ signifies Silver Gore beginning to carve out their niche, then their forthcoming endeavors promise to reveal their full potential. The ultimate objective? Straightforward: “We aspire to be the biggest band in the world.”
