Suede Announces Upcoming Album ‘Antidepressants’

Suede will launch their new album ‘Antidepressants’ on September 5th.

The band's reunion period has produced some of their best music, highlighted by last year’s fantastic joint tour with Manic Street Preachers. Following the tour, Suede immediately entered the studio to work on new material.

Scheduled for release on September 5th, the album ‘Antidepressants’ marks an evolution in their sound, confronting the darkness of contemporary life.

In a note, Brett Anderson states…

If ‘Autofiction’ was our punk album, then ‘Antidepressants’ serves as our post-punk album. It delves into the struggles of modern existence, including paranoia, anxiety, and neurosis. We are all seeking connections in a world that feels disconnected. This was the essence I aimed for in the songs. The album is named ‘Antidepressants’. It embodies broken music for broken individuals.

The new single ‘Disintegrate’ is a sharp return, showcasing the band's tattered romanticism amidst the challenges of everyday life; accompanied by a monochrome video, it presents a raw yet ultimately compassionate piece of songwriting.

In conjunction with the album, the band will present the Suede Takeover – a special concert series spanning four nights at various venues across London’s Southbank Centre in September 2025.

Scheduled for September 13th, 14th, 17th, and 19th, tickets will be available soon. Brett Anderson remarks: “Anticipate old songs, new songs, borrowed songs, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat, and a few surprises.”
